Two nurturing and special Nannies required to support a family near Taunton.
Posted 2 hours 27 minutes ago by Harmony at Home Limited
We are recruiting for two special Nannies to become part of a team to support this family near Taunton.
There are 4 siblings in the family, one is an adult, the others are aged 11, 6 and 3 years. The third child has a birth injury and is predominantly why we are recruiting. She has ataxia which affects her mobility and she is prone to falls, especially on uneven surfaces and gradients. She is a very sporty and bright little girl who wants to be as independent as possible. She has a lovely disposition. She attends mainstream school (an EHCP is in place) and they are looking to reduce her school timetable to try and reduce some of her dysregulation. She needs support in school and staff will be required to support during her mornings in school (subject to school approval and bespoke training and induction). She has a small but growing therapy team.
The youngest child also appears to have some challenging behaviours and it is not known if this is in response to the challenges of her sibling. The children all enjoy spending time outdoors, going for days out/adventures and dancing.
Your duties will include helping with morning routines and evening routines, picking up and dropping off at school/s, attending community activities, helping with homework, planning and supporting activities at home, laundry and wardrobe management, preparing meals, some light housework, record writing, reporting concerns to mum and Case Manager (you will be supported with record writing as it is an important aspect of your role). You will be given bespoke training from the therapy team who will also provide written guidelines to support you in your work. You would be expected to assist with therapy at home (when you have had training and are familiar with the family and the routine). Your employment will be managed by a Case Manager and you will have to agree to regular supervision and mandatory training.
You will be asked to cover annual leave for your colleague. You would work 3 x 12 hour days in your first week and 2 x 12 hour shifts in your second week. The second Nanny would work 2 x 12 hour shifts in the first week and 3 x 12 hour shifts in the second week.
