Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to join our Housing Solutions Team as a Triage and Accommodation Officer.

As the first point of contact for customers seeking housing assistance, you will provide proactive advice and support, carrying out initial assessments for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in line with current housing legislation and guidance. You will also play a key role in coordinating and managing temporary accommodation.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of housing and tenancy law, a genuine interest and commitment to delivering customer care in homelessness. You will be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with vulnerable individuals, while demonstrating a proactive approach and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

At Bassetlaw District Council, we are proud to be a forward-thinking organisation that values and develops its people. In return, we offer an excellent benefits package, including generous annual leave, access to a healthcare cash plan, Local Government Pension Scheme contributions, family-friendly policies, and a range of employee benefits.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community and are committed to ensuring a fair, inclusive and equal recruitment process for everyone.

If you would like an informal chat about this role, please contact Jonathan Duffield, Housing Solutions Manager at or via telephone 533533.
