Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Treasury Officer role to join our Financial Accounting team at the Royal Surrey Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting appointment and offers the chance to directly work in the Trusts treasury and cash management function. Working closely with the financial accounting team, the successful applicant will be involved in daily work of treasury and cash management and other functions. The post holder is responsible for assisting the trust daily treasury and financial accounting tasks and monthend and yearend processes.

Main duties of the job

- Working within the Trust's and Department of Health's guidelines and procedures todeliver a professional cashiering services to patients, staff, and the Trust.- Assisting Treasury Accountant in cash/treasury management.

Job responsibilities

Responsible for accurate recording of all types of income received by the Trust departments.Ensure accurate and timely input of debtor receipts and un-invoiced income to the financialledger. Reconciliation of an allocated portfolio of balance sheet control accounts.This role is supervised by the Treasury Accountant, who is the first point of contact for queries,and reports to Treasury Accountant.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • An NVQ Level 4 in Accounting or equivalent knowledge by experience gained in a relevant financial environment or Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) level or equivalent
  • GSCE Grade C (or equivalent) in English & Maths
  • Actively studying for a Professional Accountancy and / or Finance degree qualification
Knowledge
  • Siginficant experience in a finance environment
  • Experience of dealing with potentially confrontational situations
  • and Experience Working knowledge of NHS financial regime
