The aims of the Transport Service are to provide safe, accessible and efficient transport means to vulnerable people so that they can participate in the services offered by Day Opportunities for vulnerable people throughout North East Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Department: Transport
Base: Cromwell Road Resource Centre and Doughty Road Depot
37.5 hours a week, permanent
Salary: £29,317 - £35,715 per annum. You will be appointed on a fixed point within the range.
You will undertake the day to day management of a team of transport staff, delivering a comprehensive and professional service, ensuring all Health and Safety regulations and Road Traffic legislation are adhered to in relation to transportation and vehicle safety. You will co-ordinate the transport operations to satisfy the needs of the customers through the efficient usage of the fleet. You will be required to drive vehicles as and when needed.
You must hold a D1 driving entitlement and a level 4 Supervision/Management qualification or equivalent level of competence. You should have experience of managing, recruiting and delivering training to staff and have previous experience of working with vulnerable adults with a range of needs. It is also essential that you have experience of working within a transport environment, have effective customer care and decision making skills and are competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook & Excel. A working knowledge of relevant legislation is also required.

Person Specification Knowledge & Skills- Working knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. Drivers Working Hours, Health and Safety Regulations, Road Traffic legislation
- Good geographical knowledge of local area of responsibility

- Ability to deal with Emergency situations in a calm and effective manner
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written

- Level 2 qualification in computer applications or equivalent level of experience
- P.C.V driving licence with manual transmission entitlement
- Driver Qualification Card (CPC)
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to CPG core values
- Ability to work flexibly in order to meet the needs of the service
