Job Description

Overview:

  • Plan and coordinate daily transport operations and driver schedules.
  • Allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage and monitor transport movements throughout the day.
  • Communicate with drivers, customers and internal teams to ensure smooth operations. Deal with any delays, breakdowns or operational issues and find suitable solutions.
  • Ensure all transport activities comply with relevant legal and company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, driver hours and transport activities.
  • Monitor driver working hours and ensure compliance with drivers' hours regulations.
  • Liaise with customers regarding collections, deliveries and any changes to schedules. Assist with the management and planning of vehicle and trailer availability.
  • Work closely with the wider transport team to improve efficiency and minimise empty running.
  • Complete any necessary transport administration and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a transport planning, logistics or similar role.
  • Good knowledge of UK transport operations and drivers' hours regulations.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Strong attention to detail. Confident using transport planning systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Other:

  • Shift 1(7am - 3.30pm) Mon - Fri
  • Shift 2 (2pm - 10.30pm) Mon - Fri
  • Also, as part of the rota you will be required to work every other Saturday.

This is a permanent role, office based.
