Transport Manager

Overview

Great opportunity to work as a Transport Manager for our client, a well established logistics company based in Yate, Bristol. They are seeking an experienced and compliance driven Transport Manager to oversee and manage the delivery fleet.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to play a key role in ensuring operational excellence.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum.
Full time permanent role working fixed shifts - 8am to 5pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations, Operator Licence requirements, and transport legislation.
• Monitor driver hours, tachograph compliance (if required), and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Oversee fleet maintenance, MOT scheduling, and defect reporting procedures.
• Lead, manage and develop drivers to embed a customer first culture.
• Maintain transport KPIs, including on time delivery, fuel efficiency and cost control.
• Conduct driver licence checks, inductions, and ongoing compliance audits.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure seamless service.
• Lead on full utilisation of IT systems.

Essential Requirements

• Valid Transport Manager CPC qualifications.
• Willingness to be the named person on the Operator licence.
• Proven experience as a Transport Manager.
• Strong knowledge of UK Operator Licence compliance and transport legislation.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Working knowledge of the Highway Code, Tachograph requirements, Working Time regulations, Road Transport Regulations.
• Excellent organisational and problem solving abilities.
• Commercial awareness.
