This fast-paced role is perfect for someone who is motivated, a good communicator, and capable of effectively prioritising their workload. Key responsibilities include load and route planning, manage the flow of information regarding the status of customer inbound/outbound deliveries and completing all administrative tasks relating to transport, distribution and returns in an accurate and timely manner.
Who are you?
Essential Criteria:
- A candidate who embodies our values and places the customer at the heart of everything they do.
- Has at least two years' experience in one of the following:
- Working within a transport management office, utilising a transport management system (TMS).
- Engaging directly with transport companies, with hands-on experience in complaint resolution or shipment costing.
- Demonstrates strong route planning knowledge across all UK regions, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transport solutions.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable navigating in-house systems.
- Maintains a disciplined and conscientious approach, capable of managing multiple administrative and planning tasks simultaneously.
- Possesses excellent problem-solving skills, essential for navigating the dynamic and fast-paced nature of transport operations.
- Thrives under pressure and can adapt quickly to changing schedules, maintaining accuracy and professionalism throughout.
Desirable Criteria:
- Interest in business improvement and driving efficiency.
- Be able to interpret data and provide reports as and when required.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all administrative tasks relating to the transport, distribution and returns departments are carried out consistently, accurately and in a timely manner
- To achieve customer order requirements within the agreed parameters relating to lead-time, cost, volume, and quality specification
- Assist in both load and route planning
- Complete returned goods documentation in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Manage the flow of information regarding the status of customer inbound/outbound deliveries
- Follow up between transport and our customers
- Build positive relationships with internal departments, suppliers and clients
- Handle incoming communication from customers and resolve customer enquiries
- Monitor and identify issues and trends
- Undertake any other tasks within the appropriate levels of responsibility or as directed by a member of the management team
- Contribute ideas which will improve our ability to provide exceptional customer service
Health & Safety:
- Work within the Health and Safety Guidelines set out by the Company
- Check compliance adherence for Digital Tachographs and drivers' hours and infringements monitored
- Be aware of the Risk assessments applicable to you and comply with relevant Safe Systems of Work
