BMC is the leading manufacturer of low-voltage switchgear in Ireland and is currently seeking to appoint a Training Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Head of People and Culture this position is permanent and based in Damastown Clonee, Co Dublin.

About the RoleAs our business grows from approximately 370 employees today to 800 by the end of 2028, BMC are establishing a dedicated Training Academy within the People & Culture Department.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and commercially minded Training Manager to build and develop the Academy, ensuring our people have the technical, professional and leadership skills required to support the company's continued growth.
The Training Manager will work closely with department leaders, managers, subject-matter experts and external education and training providers to identify capability requirements and translate these into effective learning and development programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in developing and managing the Training Academy strategy, annual training plan and budget.
- Identify current and future training and skills requirements across all departments.
- Develop and maintain departmental training and competency matrices.
- Create structured learning, development and career and progression pathways for employees at all levels.
- Coordinate technical training across all departments such as Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement, IT and Finance.
- Develop bespoke training programmes relevant to our switchgear manufacturing environment through building strong relationships with universities, technological universities, ETBs, SOLAS, professional bodies and specialist training providers.
- Coordinate professional, management and leadership development programmes.
- Manage the BMC apprenticeship, graduate, upskilling and continuous-development programmes.
- Source, evaluate and manage external training providers, and ensure courses provided are relevant to BMC.
- Coordinate internal trainers and subject-matter experts.
- Maintain accurate training, qualification and competency records.
- Monitor training effectiveness and demonstrate its impact on quality, productivity, safety and employee capability.
- Build a Learning Management System and develop appropriate training KPIs and provide regular reports to People & Culture and senior management.
BMC are looking for a passionate learning and development professional who can combine strategic thinking with strong organisation and execution.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in Learning & Development, Training, Organisational Development or a similar capability-building role, preferably within a manufacturing, engineering or technical environment.
- Experience developing and coordinating training programmes across multiple departments.
- Experience working with internal stakeholders, technical experts and external providers.
- A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
- A relevant third-level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree in: Human Resource Management

- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, electrical or other technical environments would be highly advantageous.
