Job Description
Trainee Nursing Associate (North Primary Care Network)

This role will be recruited to the North Primary Care Network team and extends over two practices; Winterton Medical Practice (a forward-thinking, dispensing practice in Winterton, North Lincolnshire) with a branch surgery in Burton Upon Stather, and Bridge Street Surgery in Brigg (a busy dispensing practice in North Lincolnshire in a small market town with easy access to the motorway network).

We seek a highly motivated, enthusiastic and resilient individual to undertake a 2-year level 5 apprenticeship culminating in registration with the NMC.

The Nursing Associate is a new role within the nursing team. Nursing associates work with healthcare support workers and registered nurses to deliver care to our patients. To become a Nursing Associate you need to undertake a 2-year programme as a Trainee Nursing Associate with the University of Hull.

The Nursing Associate training combines and integrates both academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and education providers.

Main duties of the job

The Trainee Nursing Associate will be based over two practices working on behalf of the North Primary Care Network, at Winterton Medical Practice and Bridge Street Surgery in Brigg, but will experience working in alternative settings to gain a wide appreciation of health and care contexts and to fulfil the requirements of the programme.

At the end of the programme, the Trainee Nursing Associate will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nursing Associate and will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct. On completion of the course you will be a registered practitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Previous experience working in a healthcare setting as a health care assistant is essential, involving recent phlebotomy experience. Applicants must also hold level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (GCSE Grade A-C). Intermediate IT skills are also required.

About us

This new role will integrate as part of the North Care Network with a well established nursing and health care assistant team over both practices to offer support to the wider clinical team.
