Trainee Mammographer

Join the Surrey and North East Hampshire Breast Screening Service as a Trainee Mammographer and start a career that truly makes a difference! Based at the Jarvis Centre in Guildford, you'll help deliver life-saving breast screening to an eligible population of around 180,000 women across Surrey and North East Hampshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain specialist skills through a fully funded Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Professional Practice in Mammography, starting in March. Once qualified, you'll also have the chance to progress further with Advanced Practice Training. You'll work Monday Friday (37.5 hours per week) as part of a friendly, supportive team, providing high quality mammography and ensuring every client receives a caring, individual experience. You'll also participate in assessment clinics, including stereotactic biopsies, and support the development of assistant practitioners. If you're a qualified radiographer (BSc) with HCPC registration, excellent communication skills, and a UK driving licence, we'd love to hear from you.
Main duties of the jobDeliver high quality mammography as part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme. Provide a professional, compassionate service to all clients. Participate in assessment clinics, including stereotactic biopsies. Accurately process client information and maintain compliance with IRR17 and IR(MER) 2017 regulations. Undertake self and peer review of mammography examinations using the Image Assessment Tool. Attend mandatory training and maintain technical knowledge for breast imaging. Support the development of assistant practitioners and contribute to service efficiency. Travel to mobile screening units across Surrey (UK driving licence required).

Our service is based at the Jarvis Breast Centre in Guildford, with five mobile screening vans bringing care to communities across Surrey.
