Job Description
Our team in Loosdrecht is looking for a Trainee Food Application Technologist.
Profile
The trainee studies Food science and technology at bachelor or master level.
The trainee will work in the Benelux Food Application & Innovation Center in The Netherlands and will report directly to the Application & Innovation Team Leader.
RESPONSABILITIES:
- Supports projects, which includes ingredient testing, formulation optimization, trouble-shooting and innovative concept development.
- Interacts with Food Technologists from our other Brenntag Food Application & Innovation Centers in EMEA and the local Technical Sales Managers and Product Managers on application knowledge and product development.
- Documents the experimental tests and recipes in a structured way.
- Supports on studies on the technical characteristics of ingredients and the interaction between them.
- Carries out daily activities with the highest attention placed on respecting the safety and under the supervision of the Application & Innovation Team Leader
Required skills:
- Good knowledge of English (and Dutch) language (verbal and written);
- Basic knowledge in using functional ingredients such as emulsifiers, stabilizers, hydrocolloids, starches, fibers etc;
- Problem solving capacity;
- Positivity and enthusiasm;
- Creativity;
- Ability to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment;
- Structured, pragmatic, and pro-active work attitude, with clear communication skills.
