Trainee Accountant Croydon Accounts

Hours - Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, office based in Purley Way, Croydon
Holiday - 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 28 days).

As a Trainee Accountant, you will learn how to prepare accounts and tax returns, support bookkeeping and communicate with clients and colleagues about information, deadlines and progress. You will receive training and supervision while building the confidence to take ownership of work within your role.
You will work towards a recognised accounting qualification while gaining practical experience with a varied client base and learning what good client service looks like in practice. This role will not currently sit within an audit team, but you will gain exposure to audit and other specialist service lines across TC Group as your experience develops.

- Assisting with the preparation of accounts and financial statements from client records.
- Supporting bookkeeping and basic accounting tasks, with training and supervision.
- Helping the team keep client work organised, accurate and moving forward.
- Communicating clearly with clients and colleagues about information required, deadlines and progress.
- Supporting day-to-day office administration and team coordination so the office runs smoothly and client work continues to flow.
- Developing your technical, professional and commercial skills through study, feedback and on-the-job learning.
We are looking for someone bright, positive and keen to build a career in accountancy. We have high standards and look for strong academics, but we are equally interested in potential, attitude and ambition. Technical knowledge can be developed; curiosity, reliability and ownership are essential.
- Strong academic record, including good GCSEs with English and Maths, and good A Level results or equivalent.
- Degree educated with a minimum 2:1 classification.
- Motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work.
- Good organisation and time management.
- Clear, professional communication skills.
- Confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office.
- A positive team approach and a willingness to take responsibility as you develop.
