Société Générale invites you to join our Group Compliance Service Unit (CPLE) as a Compliance Trainee supporting our UK Wholesale Banking Compliance team.
About the Role
As a Compliance Trainee within the Business Management (BMO) team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of UK Wholesale Banking Compliance to maintain robust governance, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance across the business. You will gain hands-on experience in:
- Ensuring the smooth operation of the UK Wholesale Banking Compliance governance framework.
- Supporting compliance risk prevention and control activities.
- Assisting with financial control, budget management, and regulatory reporting.
- Coordinating risk and control self-assessments and transversal projects.
- Facilitating communication and operational support within the Compliance function.
What You Will Do
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of compliance governance tools and processes.
- Assist in the monitoring and reporting of compliance incidents, breaches, and conduct risks.
- Help manage budgets, financial reporting, and operational risk assessments.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and contribute to a culture of compliance awareness.
- Provide vital operational support including access controls, technology facilitation, and business continuity coordination.
What We Are Looking For

- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to delivering objectives on time.
- A solid understanding of risk and compliance principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (French language skills are a plus).
- Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve issues.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative team spirit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Basic financial knowledge; knowledge of Finance and Accounting is advantageous.
