Job Title: Tooling Design and Development Engineer
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Group Technical Director
Responsible for: Tooling Design Activities

Job Purpose: To support all new tooling projects, technical support for the tool room and modification quotes.

• Ensure all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner within the parameters of current Health and Safety Legislation (HASAW Act 1974).
• Provide support to the Tool room in relation to tooling queries.
• To develop GAs from China and other sources to ensure compliance with Company standards and requirements.
• To work closely with the Chinese toolmakers working on behalf of RGE to ensure robust and effective tool designs are achieved.
• To develop customers 3D models ready for tooling by marking up files and where needed re modelling.
• To support customer conference calls and meetings to develop product and tool files.
• Attend relevant internal and external meetings in respect of current and future work (Inc Worldwide).
• Attending tool trials in China/UK and at other overseas locations when required. (not compulsory)
• Advising the Design Departments (internal and external) of optimum tooling requirements.
• Carrying out assessments on mould flow analysis on new and existing components to help develop process.
• To provide quotations from modification files from customers.
• To manage external tooling work providing relevant information.
• Undertake any other duties as necessary to fulfill the needs of the job and its objectives as and when requested by the Head of Engineering.
