New Opportunity - Tool Setter / Shift Leader

Our client in South Normanton is looking for an experienced Tool Setter / Shift Leader to join their growing manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a long-established engineering business where you'll lead a team of five operators within the CNC press cell, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Working on Alfons Haar CNC press machinery, you'll be responsible for carrying out tool changes, line changeovers, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting your team throughout the shift.

As the new Tool Setter / Shift Leader, you will:
  • Lead, support, and motivate a team of operators within the CNC press cell
  • Carry out tool changes and line changeovers to meet production requirements
  • Set up and adjust machinery to ensure efficient operation and minimise downtime
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple CNC presses
  • Monitor production output and ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Support operators with technical queries and day-to-day production challenges
  • Ensure production targets and shift objectives are achieved
  • Maintain accurate production records and communicate key information during shift handovers
  • Promote high standards of housekeeping, safety, and organisation within the work area
  • Work closely with production and management teams to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Support training and development of team members where required
Requirements for this role:
  • Previous experience as a Tool Setter within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience carrying out tool changes and machine changeovers
  • Supervisory or team leader experience within production or manufacturing
  • Good mechanical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with CNC presses or similar machinery
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate a team
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience working with Alfons Haar presses or similar high-speed CNC press equipment would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience working within high-volume manufacturing
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes
  • Experience training or mentoring production staff

Competitive pay of £18.50 per hour (shift allowance included)

Weekly rotating shifts:

  • 6:00am - 2:00pm
  • 2:00pm - 10:00pm
