Therapeutic Services Volunteer at Daisy Lodge

To volunteer support alongside the Therapeutic Services Team as they deliver a range of programmes to children, young people and their families who are living with cancer.

We are looking for individuals who can volunteer on morning/afternoon/evening during the week and/or on Saturdays.

What Does It Involve?

As a Therapeutic Services Volunteer you will have the opportunity to:

  • volunteer alongside the Therapeutic services team as they deliver a programme of support to children, young people and their families
  • support families and children during their stay at Daisy Lodge
  • organise daily play activities for children and young people
  • deliver group work programmes to children and young people to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience
  • create and maintain a child centred, caring and supportive environment
What Skills or Experience Do You Need?

Cancer Fund for Children is looking for dynamic, creative and energetic volunteers, who have a qualification or are working towards a qualification in an area supporting children and young people aged 0-24 years old. E.g. youth workers, social workers, nursing staff, play specialists, early years

What Can I Expect from the Role?

You will receive on-going support and training that will be relevant to the role

  • The Therapeutic Services Specialist will be on hand to guide you in the delivery of Therapeutic Services
  • You will gain experience of working directly with children and families associated with Cancer Fund for Children
  • An opportunity to meet new people and develop new skills
