Job Description

We are looking for an experienced theatre system support officer for part time hours.

Job overview

Part Time - 30 hours.

Ensure smooth running of theatre sessions across hospital sites through effective list planning, scheduling and utilisation of the theatre system (currently OPERA). Directly contribute to the organisation of work within Theatre.

Exercise initiative and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Main duties of the job
  • Update the theatre system to accurately reflect all changes or additions to theatre sessions.
  • Make real time amendments to theatre sessions as requested.
  • Print theatre lists and call cards each night and deliver them to Bed Management.
  • Provide and collate theatre lists and schedules for the weekly list planning meeting.
  • Attend the List Planning meeting to ensure all lists are fully up to date and notes are circulated for action.
  • Utilise the roll locks management on the theatre system to unlock staff on the system and request smartcards.
  • Liaise with I.T., theatre staff and the operational theatre manager regarding system failures; log all problems and perform system tests as required.
Person specification Qualifications
  • GCSE standard or higher (GSCE).
  • ECDL or proven IT experience.
Knowledge
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • At least 2 years' experience working in an NHS environment.
  • Understanding of Trust internal policies as appropriate.
  • Experience with ORMIS or Theatre Systems.
Skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload.
  • Time management skills.
  • Accurate maintenance of computerised and manual filing/documentation systems.
  • Knowledge of Trust computer systems.
Other
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work independently.
