The Role

A 4-month vacancy (January to April 2025) has arisen within the Engineering team for a Project Test Engineer.

The main responsibility of the role will be to conduct testing activities in line with industry best practice and relevant standards. As the Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining complex test and regression test code, adhering to agile techniques and principles as well as helping to provide continuous improvement of testing efficiency, methods and tooling and carry out exploratory testing and support. You will need to formulate and own the test strategy, building the tests for a bespoke UI, agreeing and performing customer acceptance.

Due to the security needs of our customers, security clearance will be required for this role.

Job Responsibilities

• Working with business SMEs to define test scenarios and test cases for the Evolving Solution
• Carrying out all types of technical testing of the solution as a whole
• Liaising with the Business Analyst and Business Ambassador to help clarify acceptance criteria for requirements
• Creating test products as appropriate, e.g. test cases, test plans and test logs
• Reporting the results of testing activities for quality assurance purposes
• Keeping the Technical Lead and team informed of the results of testing activities

Skills Required

• Working knowledge of BDD and Playwright
• Experience of testing UI
• Build and own Test Plans
• Writing test scenarios and test cases, logging defects and test reports
• Defining, implementing and maintaining the test suite
• Perform automated and manual test execution
• Report risks and issues to the Test Manager and Engineering Lead
• Ability to work directly with customers, understanding the stakeholder requirements and translating those into test plans
• Liaising with programme team to understand the changes to write test cases with appropriate test coverage

Security Clearance Requirements

The successful candidate must be eligible to go through a SC level security clearance.
