Term Time School & Nursery Catering Assistants

Brightwork are recruiting for Term Time School & Nursery Catering Assistants to work across Glasgow and the surrounding area. Joining initially on a temporary basis, there will be a strong chance of permanency for the right workers.

Due to the regulated nature of these working environments, the successful candidates will be required to have a current PVG membership or be willing to apply for membership. Any PVG applications or updates would be payable by the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of hot and cold foods - following temperature guidelines
• Serving food in line with hygiene procedures
• Cleaning of kitchen, equipment and work areas
• Assisting with the ordering of supplies, stock control and rotation
• General duties as required

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
• Friendly manner and confident interacting with school/nursery children and staff
• Basic understanding of food and personal hygiene standards

Experience within a kitchen environment is beneficial but not necessary as full training will be provided.

In return, you will have the opportunity to gain experience within a prestigious organisation with the strong possibility of a permanent role following review. You will receive a competitive hourly rate which is higher than the Scottish Living Wage and will be paid weekly initially.
