We are currently recruiting for a Temporary GP Practice Administrator to join a busy and welcoming GP practice in Exeter.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced GP Practice Administrator who has previous experience working within a GP surgery or primary care environment and understands the day-to-day processes involved.
Due to the current demands within the practice, they are looking for someone who can get up and running quickly and provide immediate support to the team. Previous experience within a GP practice is essential, with a good understanding of practice procedures, patient administration and confidentiality requirements.
Experience using SystmOne would be a strong advantage, and candidates who already have a Smartcard are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing administrative support within a busy GP practice environment.
- Managing incoming telephone calls and patient enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Booking and managing appointments.
- Updating patient records accurately and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Processing correspondence and supporting day-to-day practice administration.
- Using clinical systems to update and maintain records.
- Managing emails and administrative requests.
- Supporting the wider practice team to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
- Handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Assisting with general administrative tasks as required to support the practice team.
- Previous administration experience within a GP practice or primary care setting.
- Good understanding of how GP practices operate and their day-to-day processes.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confident telephone manner with experience dealing with patient enquiries.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Competent IT skills.
- Reliable, professional and adaptable approach.
- Experience using SystmOne.
- Existing Smartcard access.
- Previous experience working within a healthcare environment.
