Telecare Installer - AR

Overview

Job Purpose:

This is full time 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. We are also open to discuss part-time Monday to Friday, hours to suit.

Ideally, we are looking for someone that has experience of working with vulnerable people.

In absence of working with the vulnerable, you will need to demonstrate an aptitude for patience, empathy, and an ability to connect with people who will mostly likely, for example, be elderly, have cognitive limitations, physically disabled, or just returned from hospital and feeling sensitive.

You will need to have hands-on practical experience using power tools (not just a paint brush) and have an aptitude for technology (comfortable with Outlook calendar, using a laptop, basic setting up skills etc.).

The tasks involve working to a schedule of daily visits within the Lewisham borough to remove the existing analogue telecare device and installing and testing a new digital smart device and any peripheral devices such as smoke alarms, heat detectors, carbon monoxide sensors etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily visits within the Lewisham borough to remove the existing analogue telecare device and install/test a new digital smart device.
• Install and test peripheral devices such as smoke alarms, heat detectors, and carbon monoxide sensors.
• Follow a scheduled plan and ensure installations meet safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• We require someone that can prioritise, multitask, have a good practical/mechanical ability to make a judgement on installation issues, and have solid attention to detail.
• An ability to learn quickly and have a basic understanding of the telecare service.
• It is essential to have access to your own vehicle and have business insurance to cover driving for work with a clean driving licence. We pay a mileage allowance to cover costs.
• Have experience with working with vulnerable or be able to demonstrate an aptitude, empathy, and an ability to connect with vulnerable people.
