Join a leading technology company as an IT Support Technician (Level 2)!

Job Purpose:
This role involves carrying out decommissioning (Decom) and recommissioning (Recom) activities for IT equipment, including the safe disconnection, relocation, installation, and configuration of desktops, laptops, monitors, and other hardware. The successful candidate will ensure all equipment is set up correctly, fully operational, and meets required standards following installation or office/site moves.
Location: Fareham Date: 21 Aug 2026

Pay Rate: An hourly rate, in-scope IR35, of £14.90 PAYE) OR £19.33 per hour (via a Hays approved umbrella company).

Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Perform decommissioning (Decom) of IT equipment, including the safe disconnection, removal, and preparation of desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and other hardware.
• Carry out recommissioning (Recom) activities, ensuring equipment is installed, connected, configured, and fully operational at the designated location.
• Support office relocations, Workstation moves, hardware refresh projects, and IT infrastructure deployments.
• Manage equipment setup, cable management, asset tracking, and basic troubleshooting during installation and relocation activities.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety procedures and client standards.
• Verify that all hardware and peripherals are functioning correctly following installation and configuration.
• Work closely with end users and project teams to minimise disruption and ensure a smooth transition during IT migration and relocation projects.
