Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to provide basic to intermediate-level desktop installation, configuration, support, and troubleshooting services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in hardware and software support within a desktop infrastructure environment.

Location: Doncaster DN4 5PQ

Rate: An hourly rate, in-scope IR35, of £14.90 (PAYE) OR £19.34 per hour (via a Hays Approved Umbrella Company).

Contract Length: up to 31st March 2026

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (9:00 - 17:30)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide desktop hardware installation services requiring basic technical skills for service delivery solutions.
• Unbox and install equipment at desks, ensuring proper placement and setup.
• Connect peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and monitors.
• Connect necessary cables (eg, power and network) to ensure functionality.
• Perform relevant power-on self-tests to verify hardware readiness.
• Initiate basic steps for automated builds when required.
• Execute simple scripted post-login configurations as part of setup.
• Work variable shift patterns based on business requirements.

Key Requirements:

• Maintain and update system records, primarily using ServiceNow.
• Ensure strict adherence to established procedures, scripts, and policies.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working days when required (minimal changes with prior notice).
• Hold a current UK driving license (mandatory requirement).
