Technical Trainer (IT Managed Services)

Location: Remote
Engagement: Contract - Volume of Training Sessions TBD

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Trainer to support the up-skilling of approximately 40 technical engineers within a rapidly growing Managed Services organisation. This role will be responsible for assessing skills gaps, reviewing service offerings, designing learning paths, developing training materials, and delivering high-quality remote training sessions.

The successful candidate will be consultative, adaptable, and able to translate complex technologies into practical learning content that aligns with operational service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training needs analysis across technical engineering teams

• Review current and future service offerings to align capability development plans

• Define learning objectives, training roadmaps, and certification pathways where applicable

• Develop and maintain training documentation, presentations, labs, and exercises

• Deliver structured remote training sessions to multiple technical audiences

• Assess learner progress and provide feedback/coaching

• Recommend continuous improvements to knowledge retention and skill adoption

• Work closely with SMEs and leadership teams to ensure successful outcomes

Potential Training Areas (Exposure to the following would be highly desirable)

• Scale Computing Hypervisor

• Panzura (Cloud file services & data management)

• VMware AirWatch/Workspace ONE (UEM)

• SailPoint (Identity Governance)

• IaC & CI/CD automation (Azure, GitHub, DevOps tooling)

• Tanium (Endpoint management & security)

• Orchestration tooling - ideally Atlassian Stack (Atalantis assumed equivalent)

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience designing and delivering technical training to infrastructure or managed service engineering teams

• Strong instructional design knowledge and ability to create engaging material

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and train confidently

• Relevant technical certifications beneficial (Azure, DevOps, Identity, etc.)
