Job Description

These are exciting times at ARAG, as we are experiencing positive business change and sustained growth across our Legal Advice teams. We now have an opportunity for a Technical Legal Trainer.

In this role, you will support the delivery of technical legal training (both face-to-face and online) across our Legal Advice department at both Bristol and Bedwas offices, while helping provide a professional legal advice service to our commercial and personal customers.

Your responsibilities include supporting management with legal training by coaching and mentoring Legal Advisers, deputising for Team Leaders when needed, and providing technical expertise and guidance.

This role requires on-site work 3-4 times per week at both offices due to the face-to-face nature of training.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Identify training needs through effective monitoring of legal advice calls and providing feedback to Legal Advisers.
  2. Deliver technical legal training to new and existing Legal Advisers across various areas of law.
  3. Assist with complex legal queries and act as a referral point for legal and procedural issues.
  4. Design and develop new training content in line with regulatory changes and legal updates.
  5. Manage customer experience, ensuring engagement, expectations, and service levels are maintained or exceeded.
  6. Propose and liaise on new ideas to improve working practices and procedures.
  7. Support strategic initiatives to develop the Legal Advice service.
  8. Ensure compliance with SRA regulations and statutory obligations.
  9. Stay updated on relevant regulatory and legal changes and update training content accordingly.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced legal professional with a passion for training and development, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Key requirements include:

  • Practical knowledge of Employment, Property, Consumer Law, and willingness to learn other legal areas such as Family, Wills & Probate, Landlord & Tenant, and Commercial Law.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple sites.
  • Strong negotiation, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Effective training delivery skills tailored to diverse learning styles.
  • Excellent customer service skills and understanding of its importance.
  • Ability to meet targets and SLAs.
  • People management skills.
  • Willingness to travel weekly between Bristol and Bedwas.

We offer a modern, flexible, and supportive work environment, with benefits including holiday entitlement, private medical insurance, pension scheme, income protection, and discounts. We encourage applications from candidates with transferable experience who are eager to join our passionate team.
