JOB TITLE: Technical Trainee ABOUT THE ROLE A BRIEF SUMMARY

Gravity Media is seeking a motivated Technical Trainee to join our Outside Broadcast team, supporting the delivery of high profile live productions around the world and within the UK. This role will involve travelling internationally as part of the technical team delivering coverage for the Race to Dubai golf tour, assisting with the setup, operation and technical delivery of multiple broadcast departments including Vision, Audio, Cameras and RF. Candidates should have a strong interest in either Vision or Audio as a primary technical pathway while maintaining the flexibility to assist across all broadcast disciplines. The role will also involve working on UK based outside broadcasts for some of the industry's leading broadcasters across major sporting and entertainment events, offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in live broadcast production within a fast paced and highly collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Non UK work- DP World Tour
  • Travel internationally as part of the Outside Broadcast technical team supporting DP World Tour events.
  • Assist operational departments with the setup and de rig of the broadcast facilities.
  • Support the RF team in delivering live coverage of players throughout the event.
  • Work with Technical departments when required for first line maintenance.
  • Assist Unit Manager with on site tasks on request.
  • Maintain strong organisation, time keeping and professional standards while working in a live broadcast environment.
  • Become part of our UK based outside Broadcast team working on some of the largest sporting and entertainment events in the UK.
  • Assist technical departments in preparation at our High Wycombe and Watford office.
  • Operate onsite as part of the Vision or Audio teams rigging external commentary and presentation areas.
  • Gain a strong understanding of both Audio and Vision disciplines.
  • Perform duties as tender guarantee - making sure technical support vehicles are kept tidy loaded correctly and that all external kit has returned and is in the correct place ready to travel.

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF
  • You have a strong interest in live broadcast or live event production.
  • Ideally hold a degree in Broadcast Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • You hold a full UK driving licence and are able to travel to our bases at High Wycombe and Watford for consecutive days when required.
  • You are looking to join a fast paced and dynamic working environment and are comfortable working weekends and irregular hours during live productions.
  • You are willing to travel internationally when required and enjoy working as part of a collaborative technical team.
