The Company
Scintacor is a world leader in scintillation materials for medical, industrial and security applications, based in Cambridge, UK. The company has circa 40 employees and is part of the Tibidabo Scientific Industries group of companies. There is an opening for a Technical Sales Manager to drive the continuing growth of the company.

Overview
The role has responsibility for identifying new business opportunities, co-ordinating and driving our world-wide sales and marketing activities to ensure that our orderbook is in-line or above budgeted goals.

The role holder can expect to be a part of technical discussions and applicants must possess a dynamic and application driven approach to the sales process. To support this, we expect that they will hold a relevant technical degree and have proven experience. Many of our customers come to us for bespoke solutions to their needs.

Due to the international nature of the products and markets, some experience of export regulations is desirable but not essential.

The role includes oversight of our existing account management team and liaison with Tibidabo group functions (US sales and Marketing).

Key Responsibilities

Order in-take

Drive customer-focused activity to increase orderbook, in line with budgets

Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy

Analyse market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities

Represent the company at events to enhance visibility

Organise and attend exhibitions and demonstrations

Awareness of export licence requirements

Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong client relationships

Oversee customer satisfaction and resolve issues

Respond to customer and distributor enquiries

Support product promotion and customer service

Manage and develop the sales team

Set targets and give regular feedback

Uphold performance standards and company policies

Contribute to team meetings and staff engagement

Revenue & Profit Growth

Monitor revenue and profitability targets

Pursue new business opportunities

Develop revenue from product lines

Research new markets and sales avenues

Identify gaps for new or enhanced products

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with production, supply chain, and marketing

Finalise customer specifications internally

Attend management meetings and contribute to KPIs

Work with sales support, operations, QA, finance, and R&D

Support new product development with R&D

Reporting & Analytics

Prepare sales forecasts and reports

Use data to track and improve performance

Contribute to proposals and technical documentation

Personal Specifications

Qualifications (Essential)

Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field

Qualifications (Desirable)

PhD in a relevant technical field

Experience

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Sales of technical components

Export control experience

Independent and team-working experience

Knowledge

Imaging and applications

Sales and marketing plan development

Salary: £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)
