Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in optical networking on planning, deployment or operations.
- Deep understanding of project managing the deployment of terrestrial or subsea optical network infrastructure engineering design and construction projects.
- Proven ability to manage project priorities and technical resources and have relationships with multiple partner teams, directors, or vendors.
- Ability to identify opportunities for and drive cross functional process improvements across the organization.
- Strong communication skills combined with a data driven analytical approach towards solving complex challenges.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
- Lead large scale EMEA optical transport and capacity projects (including metro/long haul, fiber, waves, colo, power, and inside/outside plant) from initial inception through final delivery.
- Manage project scope changes, assess impacts, and mitigate issues, risks, and exceptions across the organization to keep simultaneous, competing priorities on track.
- Lead cross functional teams, align upstream planning and engineering with downstream Google teams, and deliver clear status updates, analyses, and recommendations to executive management.
- Coordinate with external vendors for outsourced network builds, and facilitate the thorough review and formal acceptance of vendor handover documentation.
- Identify and drive process, software, and measurement enhancements to optimize delivery performance, network functionality, quality, and overall efficiency.
