Job Description

Technical Production Operative - Leeds (LS14)

Our client, a reputable leader in the industrial sector, is hiring for a dedicated Technical Production Operative to join their team in Leeds. This role is vital in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high quality operation of machinery on site.

  • Shifts: 12 hours (7-7) allocated weekly, crew 2 Days - 2 Nights - 4 Off (repeat) includes weekends (excluding bank holidays) and a shutdown at Christmas.
  • Training: The client will review the training plan; it may begin Monday-Friday or follow the crew schedule.
  • Pay: £13.45-£14.60, then £17.88 after 12 weeks.
What you'll be doing:
  • Safely operate machinery following SOPs and instructions, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct routine changeovers, start up, and shutdown procedures, aiming for continuous improvement using SMED techniques.
  • Manage materials in line with the production plan to meet weekly demands.
  • Perform daily checks, adjustments, and defect tagging as part of the R2S process.
  • Support problem solving, root cause analysis, and participate in pit stops, pre briefs, and de briefs.
  • Monitor quality standards, report issues, and assist in investigations using Q EWO.
  • Follow environmental protocols to minimise waste and handle hazardous materials correctly.
  • Communicate effectively across shifts, providing clear reports and operational insights.
What you'll bring:
  • Competence in operating machinery safely and understanding SOPs.
  • Basic knowledge of AM principles, machine adjustments, and digital tools.
  • Experience in following safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Flexibility to support shift patterns and adapt to evolving technology.
  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science/Engineering or equivalent.
