Posted 2 days 15 hours ago by ADLIB
On the search for an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Production Designer is sought to join a team focused on delivering ambitious, highly complex installations across the UK within Brand Experiences/Activations. This role suits someone who thrives on precision, creative problem-solving, and the challenge of turning bold concepts into buildable, intelligent solutions.
The position is based primarily at a well-equipped studio in Surrey, with generous flexibility around how, when, and where work is carried out. Collaboration is central, with projects moving rapidly from concept to physical form-often within the same space. My client is happy to see FREELANCERS also, yet ideally will be looking for someone to step in permanently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate creative ideas into technically accurate, build-ready designs.
- Lead the technical design process from concept through to final delivery.
- Liaise directly with clients, suppliers, and fabricators to ensure clarity, feasibility, and alignment.
- Work closely with creative, production, and workshop teams to realise project goals.
- Manage individual workload and deadlines with autonomy.
- Contribute to problem-solving, prototyping, and iterative development.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Solid background in technical design, with an emphasis on production, fabrication, or build.
- Acute attention to detail and the ability to foresee and resolve construction challenges.
- Proficiency in SketchUp or willingness to quickly gain fluency-used as the core design and communication tool across all teams.
- Familiarity with additional CAD or design tools, especially where precision engineering or complex forms are involved.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; confident when working with diverse stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to seeing projects through to completion.
- A passion for making complex, extraordinary ideas a reality.
Opportunity Highlights
A unique chance to work on boundary-pushing projects in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. The role offers creative autonomy, meaningful collaboration, and flexibility in day-to-day working style.
