Job Mission
As Technical Nuclear Lead, you will act as the senior technical authority within Assystem's embedded team supporting our new opportunities and bids in the Netherlands. You will ensure that all nuclear engineering activities and vendor interactions meet the highest standards of safety, design integrity, and technical quality during the pre delivery phase of new nuclear plant development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of bid specifications and technical evaluations, focusing on nuclear safety, operability, maintainability, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the senior technical interface with technology vendors to ensure lifecycle operability and engineering robustness.
- Oversee technical input for regulatory submissions, including safety cases and design documentation.
- Advise the Contracting Authority on nuclear technical risk and mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to high level technical reviews, including Design Assurance, HAZOPs, and Safety Committees.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of nuclear safety and technical excellence within the team.
- Ensure technical traceability between stakeholder requirements and vendor proposals.
Your Profile
Essential
- Master's degree or PhD (or equivalent) in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
- Several years' experience in technical roles within the nuclear sector.
- Deep understanding of nuclear plant design, operations, maintainability, and licensing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical assessments in complex, multi stakeholder environments.
- Experience working with regulators, operators, or technical vendors on new build projects.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch regulation and standards is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel and collaborate in a multinational environment.
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation.
- Experience with Generation III+ technologies and new nuclear build projects.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as WENRA, IAEA, EUR, and Dutch nuclear standards.
