Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Architect to design and deliver secure enterprise infrastructure solutions within a defence environment.

It is predominantly a Microsoft and VMWare estate, incorporating hybrid cloud integration, resilient storage platforms and secure infra principles.

Responsibilities

• Produce High and low level designs
• Design storage and hybrid cloud solutions
• Design high availability and disaster recovery capabilities
• Support all migrations, upgrades and modernisation initiatives
• Provide Architectural oversight through build and transition phase

Technical Environment

• Win Server 2019/22, AD, GP, SQL ~ (HA/Clustering), Entra ID, Azure Iaas
• Virtualisation: VMWare vSphere 7/8, vCentre
• Storage and Resilience: NetApp, ONTAP, enterprise storage platforms, HA/DR design, backup solutions
• Cloud and Hybrid: Azure integration and hybrid compute models
• Automation: PowerShell, Terraform, ansible
• Networking: Enterprise LAN/WAN, segmentation principles, Firewalls concepts, TLS/SSL certificate management

Experience required

• Experience working as a Technical Infra Architect within a complex enterprise environment
• Strong experience across MS, VMWare and storage platforms
• Experience working within highly secure and regulated environments
• Ownership of architecture documentation and life cycle governance
