An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Engineer to join the team at our Belfast Office. The successful candidate will provide marine engineering services whilst developing their own engineering specialty.

Other key duties include:

• Estimating and scheduling support on technical matters to assist the Commercial and Contract departments.
• Vessel attendance for scope definition and pre-condition surveys
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers of technical materials, equipment and services.
• Preparing technical specifications for materials & equipment, issuing requests for quotation, evaluating quotations received, negotiating supplier terms, pricing and submitting purchase order requisitions
• Tracking deliveries to ensure maintenance of the delivery schedule and reporting delivery issues in a timely manner to enable the impact of any delays to be mitigated.
• Ensuring Document Control protocols are followed during project estimating and delivery phases
• Co-ordination and monitoring of technical related warranty contractual clauses
• Supporting Commercial when contracting external companies to provide technical services which will include liaison with the contractor, preparation of technical specifications, and evaluation of quotations.
• Vessel attendance during the contract execution phase to:
• Support the Contracts Manager by leading the technical services team
• Providing guidance and solutions to overcome technical issues arising
• Assisting with the successful on-site delivery of technical services
• Providing post contract review feedback on technical matters to support the continued development of MJM service offerings.
• Working closely with Client's representatives and other parties to ensure that quality and regulatory requirements are satisfied in accordance with the Contract.
• Extensive travel to work on sites throughout the world

The Ideal Person will have:

• A Mechanically or electrical based engineering degree or equivalent qualification. Preferably in the marine sector.
• At least four years previous experience working in an engineering role carrying out duties which align with the duties associated with this role
• Demonstrablecomputer literacy skills to include Microsoft excel of a high standard
• Previous experience working on own initiative and as part of a team

It would be desirable if the person have experience working as an electrical engineer. Or has a good understanding of low voltage (440V 3PH and below) distribution principles.
