On behalf of our client, Royal London. We are looking for a Technical Delivery Manager (Migration) for a 6 Month contract role (with potential extension) based in Edinburgh (Hybrid - 2 times per week in the office).

Job description - the role

Purpose of the role:

As Technical Delivery Manager you will lead delivery across a complex migration programme involving significant changes to multiple software applications. You will provide technical leadership and delivery oversight across diverse workstreams, including migration, application change, finance, testing, infrastructure, and architecture.

What you'll do:

  • Own end-to-end technical delivery, ensuring alignment with scope, time, and quality targets.
  • Lead technical roadmap planning, coordinating dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Provide architecture and technical guidance to support long-term platform stability.
  • Coordinate integration across engineering, QA, infrastructure, and business teams.
  • Drive effective release management, including schedules and testing coordination.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies, and performance challenges.
  • Act as a key technical liaison between delivery teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.

The skills you'll need:

  • Strong background in software delivery and data migration, ideally in large-scale systems.
  • Proven experience in programme-level delivery oversight and technical workstream coordination.
  • Solid understanding of release management, test environments, and change control.
  • Ability to manage third-party vendors, and ensure accountability.
  • Skilled in planning, risk management, and leading diverse technical teams.
  • Financial services or protection business experience is a strong advantage.
