Job Description

Guildford, United Kingdom Posted on 11/12/2025

We provide end-to-end IT solutions and services including Applications services, Data & Analytics services, AI/ML Technologies and Professional services in the UK and EU market.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to develop reusable architecture patterns, produce infrastructure solution designs, and provide architectural assurance across multiple technology domains. This role requires a strong understanding of security, service design, and enterprise-level solution governance. The position involves working closely with diverse business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational strategy, compliance requirements, and ongoing business change initiatives.

This is not a hands-on engineering role, nor a technical lead position. Instead, it focuses on architectural leadership, design governance, technology evaluation, and guiding subject matter experts during delivery. The Technical Architect will work within a focused architecture team and collaborate with solution and integration architects across the wider organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Develop repeatable architecture patterns and produce high-quality infrastructure solution designs.

Ensure that security, service design, and operational considerations are embedded within all architectural outputs.

Translate business requirements into technology, service, and security deliverables with clear risk identification and mitigation strategies.

Conduct architectural assurance reviews and perform quality assurance on peer deliverables.

Technology Governance & Strategy

Support technology governance activities across multiple domains to ensure architectural integrity and strategic alignment.

Research emerging technologies and market-leading solutions, preparing business cases for architectural design authorities.

Advocate for technology decisions that deliver long-term value and align with enterprise standards and direction.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Engage with stakeholders at all levels-from senior executives to technical SMEs-building trust, influencing decisions, and communicating architectural recommendations clearly.

Provide architectural advice and guidance to implementation teams and subject matter experts.

Work closely with solution and integration architects to deliver cohesive solution architecture across programmes.

Operational & Delivery Support

Contribute to the design of secure, high-performing, highly available enterprise technology solutions.

Produce detailed documentation including design artefacts, proposals, risk assessments, and traceability matrices.

Manage workload independently, initiating tasks proactively and prioritising effectively.

Skills & Experience

Broad enterprise technology experience gained through multiple SME or technical delivery roles.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organisational levels.

Hands-on experience supporting, implementing, and designing large-scale public cloud environments (preferably Azure).

Experience with core technologies including Windows, Linux, middleware, web platforms, databases, security gateways, and LAN/WAN networking.

Practical experience with MuleSoft API management.

Proven track record designing secure, resilient, high-performance infrastructure solutions with full requirements traceability.

Strong understanding of IT security and risk within an architectural context.

Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to varied audiences.

Ability to self-manage, prioritise tasks, and drive work to completion.

Experience working in regulated industries such as financial services.

Knowledge of CI/CD processes, methods, and tooling.

Degree or HND in Information Technology (or equivalent experience).

Relevant certifications such as TOGAF or ITIL.
