About the Role

The global market for coatings and varnishes used on digital presses is growing rapidly, creating exciting opportunities for Sun Chemical. We are introducing a new role: Primer and Coating Application Specialist - EMEA, a technical support position focused on deploying primer and coating strategies for HP Indigo customers, with scope to support other digital printing technologies.

This is a customer-facing role that will work closely with Technology teams, Product Management, and HP Indigo field engineers to gain customer approvals and provide advisory support on coatings and adhesives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and manage HP Indigo primer conversions at customer sites and remotely.
  • Act as the technical go-to person within EMEA for HP Indigo matters, including troubleshooting and product recommendations.
  • Support new product introductions and identify gaps in current offerings.
  • Define optimum press parameters and media profiling; document best practices for primers and coatings.
  • Train local CTS champions to support primer conversions and HP Indigo customers.
  • Manage trial activities for new business opportunities.
  • Make product selection decisions based on end-use applications.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to provide fitness-for-use guidance and defend against customer claims.
  • Participate in strategic technical meetings and process improvement initiatives.
  • Report all field activity in Salesforce and complete technical documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Technical Degree (BS).
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in the industry, with strong pressroom and printing process knowledge.
  • Familiarity with HP Indigo printing technology; experience running HP Indigo presses for Label & Packaging is a plus.
  • Ideally trained to HP Indigo Press Operator Level 2 or 3.
  • Previous experience with Flexo UV coatings.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
