The Opportunity Alliance Healthcare is looking for an experienced Warehouse Team Manager to lead a busy operational area within our distribution centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a people-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment and is passionate about driving performance, safety, and operational excellence. You'll be responsible for managing a team of approximately 40 colleagues, ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately for next-day delivery while maintaining the highest standards of service, productivity and compliance.
Job DetailsSalary: £35,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday, 4:30pm - 12:30am (30-minute break). Please note occasional Sunday day shifts of 7:00am - 2:30pm may be required.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and motivate a team of around 40 warehouse colleagues
- Manage the day-to-day Pick & Pack operation for next-day customer deliveries
- Drive productivity, quality, and service performance against KPIs
- Ensure warehouse operations are conducted safely and in line with company procedures
- Oversee stock control and warehouse management processes
- Conduct team briefings and maintain strong colleague engagement
- Manage attendance, timekeeping and performance issues effectively
- Complete 1-2-1s, performance reviews and development conversations
- Manage absence cases and return-to-work discussions in line with company policy
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to achieve operational objectives
- Identify process improvements and implement operational best practice
- Support and champion a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement .
We're looking for a confident people manager with experience leading warehouse teams and delivering operational results.
Essential Skills & Experience- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution management role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Experience managing performance, productivity and attendance
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Good understanding of warehouse operations, stock control and inventory management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience working within a safety-focused environment
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical or healthcare distribution environments
- Supply Chain or Logistics qualifications
- Continuous improvement experience
- Understanding of GDP (Good Distribution Practice) requirements
- A proactive and hands-on management style
- The ability to engage, coach and develop colleagues
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- A customer-focused approach
- Experience analysing performance data and implementing improvements
- A commitment to maintaining high operational and safety standards
