Team Manager

Do you want to improve the way we manage our waste? Do you want to help deliver services designed to improve recycling from homes and businesses? Do you want to help the Council deliver waste treatment infrastructure to meet the changing needs of our population?

The Waste Management Team are looking for an experienced public sector contracts manager, who has the strategic vision to help shape the future of waste management services in Nottinghamshire.

Experience in public or private sector waste contract management and/ or PFI contract management would be a bonus, but in these new challenging times as waste faces its biggest overhaul in 30 years, we're also interested in people with wider transferrable skills, who can help reshape the way statutory waste services are provided.

You will be joining a small but focused intelligent client group at an exciting time of implementing national Simpler Recycling and Local Government reforms in tandem, whilst managing continuous service improvement through existing contracts.

You will lead on current and future operational commercial arrangements with contracted partners to deliver this essential service to achieve the best possible outcomes for our residents and stakeholders. You must be enthusiastic, have a keen eye for detail and demonstrate relevant experience in relationship and contract management backed up by sound financial and ICT skills to ensure payment and performance mechanisms are effectively applied.

You must be able to work independently as well as in collaboration and under pressure, in a confidential, commercial environment.
