What you will do
  • Lead, manage, and supervise a team of social workers and fostering professionals, promoting high standards of practice and professional development.
  • Oversee the recruitment, assessment, approval, review, and retention of foster carers in accordance with fostering legislation and National Minimum Standards.
  • Ensure effective safeguarding arrangements are in place, maintaining oversight of risk management and decision-making for children in care.
  • Monitor the quality of assessments, care planning, supervision records, and case management through robust quality assurance processes.
  • Chair professional meetings and contribute to fostering panels, permanency planning, and placement matching decisions.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Practice Educator qualification or a willingness to achieve this.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
  • Substantial experience within fostering services, including supervision of foster carers.
  • Previous management, Assistant Team Manager, or senior practitioner experience.
