Salary: £17.73 an hour
Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (required to work 2 weekends a month)
Reports to: Environmental Manager

What You'll Be Doing

• Collecting bags, fly tips and completing daily duties alongside colleagues
• Making regular visits to staff to ensure efficient and effective allocation of duties to maximise productivity
• Removing sweeper bags and fly tips as requested or observed and servicing litter bins as required; occasionally assisting with sweeping
• Assisting your manager with daily checks of vehicles, barrows and other equipment at the start of each shift
• Reporting defects on the daily defect sheet and all accidents to the line manager
• Checking that ISO 9001 procedures are correctly recorded and filed
• Ensuring staff possess the individual working instructions for their tasks and sign the daily worksheet
• On completion of daily work, ensuring the workforce is signed off and all route maps, worksheets and log sheets are returned, completed and signed off by yourself
• Ending the day by reporting to your manager or senior manager, debriefing on activities, and noting variations for the next day
• Being fully conversant with the company's Health and Safety Policy and implementing it, including ongoing training within the workforce
• Being conversant with the company's discipline and grievance procedures and compiling written statements or providing evidence for disciplinary hearings when required
• Keeping the depot clean, tidy and in a safe state at all times

What We're Looking For

• Good communication skills
• Current C1 licence with CPC card and tacho card
• Strong time management abilities
• Previous team leader experience
• Leadership skills
• Desirable: previous sweeper experience
