Corlann - West Region provides a community based, person centred service focusing on the needs and abilities of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The vision is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community, in line with best practice nationally and internationally. Working in partnership with each person supported, we aim to create opportunities for ordinary life experiences and close connections to family and friends, supporting them to live a life of their choosing.
Orchard Services offer a range of community based services including day, residential, respite, community outreach, family support and multidisciplinary support. People are supported in day settings (day centres, supported employment, social and micro entreprises, training and education) and in residential settings (individually and in groups). The service is person centred and focuses on adults with intellectual disabilities and autism, creating opportunities for valued social roles and friendships.

The RoleThe Team Leader has a pivotal role in managing day to day service delivery. The Team Leader will provide leadership and supervision to teams, ensuring development of the service in line with national standards and best practice. Responsibilities include working with the Team Manager on person centred planning, resource management, staffing (rosters, staff development), facilitation of communication and professional leadership to ensure a good quality of life for the people supported. The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring each individual's life reflects the organisation's core values and supporting development in the areas of dignity and respect, independence (personal, educational, employment, life skills), friendships, relationships, community networking, while observing physical, medical, social and emotional wellbeing outcomes.
ReportingReporting/Responsible To: Team Manager
Qualifications- Current Live Register Certificate from An Bord Altranais is essential; RNID/RMHN qualification or HETAC/NQAI BA (HONS) in Applied Social Studies (Disability)/Social Care.
- Full clean manual driving licence.
- Fluency in verbal and written English.
- Desirable management qualification or commitment to obtain one.
- Social Care Leader candidates must be registered with CORU or have their application submitted.
Eligible applicants on the closing date must hold a Schedule 3 qualification or a comparable qualification recognised by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. Alternatively, applicants who satisfy Section 91 conditions must submit proof of application for registration, confirmed by correspondence received by 30th November 2025.
ExperienceAt least 3 years post qualification experience in services for people with intellectual disabilities, with demonstrated leadership and team support. Experience in community networking, goal setting and programme implementation is desirable. Experience with individuals with autism, challenging behaviour and mental health is an advantage.
Skills- Leadership and planning - goal setting, implementation and follow through.

- Creativity, self motivation and effective communication in written and verbal form.
- Teamworking and person centred philosophy.
75/75 CNM1 or 78/78 Social Care Leader hours per fortnight (14 day duty roster). Hours may vary over 7 days to meet service needs. The successful candidate will work days, evenings, weekends, public holidays and occasional night duty. On call commitment is essential.
Leave and RemunerationLeave is granted according to the agreed leave for the grade of Social Care or CNM1. Remuneration is based on the salary scale for the grade of Social Care Leader or CNM1. The role is permanent, full time, pensionable. A probationary period of nine months applies.
