Airdrie Community Health Centre

The Role

The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of an accessible, appropriate, high quality and effective nursing service to all age groups in the community by working in partnership with patients, care providers and other agencies. The post holder will ensure a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to maintain quality strategy. You will function as an independent autonomous practitioner by virtue of in depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience to lead and enable the Community Nursing team to provide a quality nursing service. The post holder will be a clinical expert, be involved in public health activities and be a key member of the Primary Care team and other multi disciplinary groups.

In addition, you will be responsible and accountable for the leadership and management of the aligned community nursing team, linking into the management structure of the Locality.

What we'll need you to bring
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at degree level
  • Postgraduate expertise of leadership that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge to lead safely, effectively and efficiently
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice to lead within that area
  • Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development
  • Further education/evidence of continuous professional development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
  • Excellent team working and leadership skills and the ability to motivate others and work by own initiative
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

  • Further education/evidence of continuous professional development in the area of speciality including study days, courses, postgraduate qualification
Contract type

Fixed Term or Secondment for 1 year

Full time

When a post has only temporary funding and an existing NHS Lanarkshire staff member wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee must already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Long Term Conditions Team within Airdrie Community Health Centre.

The working pattern for this role is 5/7.
