Job Description

Job Title: Senior Support Worker
Location: Hereford

Salary: Up to £34,779 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent (Full Time or Part Time)

Service: Children's Home
Service Users: Young people aged 8-18
Qualifications Required: NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (minimum)
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years' experience working in a children's residential setting

Who we are looking for

Our client is looking for a caring and experienced Senior Support Worker who is passionate about supporting children and young people in residential care.

You will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive and nurturing home environment where young people can feel valued, supported and encouraged to achieve positive outcomes.

The role involves supporting young people with their daily routines, building strong relationships and helping them develop confidence and independence.

Key responsibilities
  • Supporting young people with daily routines such as preparing for school, mealtimes and activities.
  • Creating a warm, homely environment and supporting with light household tasks.
  • Building meaningful relationships and providing emotional support to young people.
  • Planning and taking part in activities such as trips, games, movie nights and creative projects.
  • Maintaining accurate records to ensure high-quality care and compliance.

The ideal candidate will be patient, supportive and able to build strong connections with young people. A full UK driving licence is required.
