We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school's Launchpad provision (KS3) in Newton-le-Willows, starting immediately.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Providing targeted support to KS3 pupils within a specialist Launchpad provision
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs to regulate emotions and engage in learning
  • Building strong, positive relationships to create a safe and structured environment
  • Implementing behaviour support strategies and individual support plans
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Working closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Promoting resilience, independence, and positive coping strategies
  • Supporting pupils during challenging situations using de-escalation techniques
What We're Looking For:
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Recent experience working with children or young people within the last 2 years
  • Ability to provide two references confirming your experience
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting SEMH needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour is highly desirable
