Teaching Assistant in SEND School

Overview

Location: Tilehurst Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Pay: £92.63 per day

What this role involves

• Supporting students with a range of complex SEND needs
• Assisting with outdoor and physical learning activities
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Managing and de-escalating challenging and occasionally aggressive behaviour
• Supporting with personal care, including toileting
• Working closely with teachers and support staff to maintain a safe, structured environment

• Confidence in handling high-energy and sometimes challenging situations
• Strong de-escalation skills (or willingness to learn)
• A nurturing, relatable approach that helps students feel safe and understood
• Physical stamina and willingness to be active throughout the day
• A team player who communicates well and adapts quickly
