St. Osmund's C.E. Middle School is an over subscribed Middle School for Years 5-8, located in the thriving county town of Dorchester. The school is proudly part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust and is Ofsted Good in all areas (2022). The school was recently SIAMS inspected and received a strong report (2026).

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to support children in the classroom with various needs to start on 1st September.
Responsibilities- General classroom support across all curriculum areas for both Key Stages.
- Support children with SEND, including 1:1 assistance and small group intervention work.
- Duties include supporting break and lunchtime sessions in school.
- Good standard of English and Maths.
- Experience or knowledge of working with children with SEND is desirable.
The role is for a fixed term up to August 2027. Contracted hours will be 29 hours per week, 8 15 Monday Friday, term time only (38 weeks). The pro rated salary is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements. The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.

St. Osmund's Middle School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates as part of a safeguarding check, based solely on suitability to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted objectively, avoiding unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination.
