Teaching Assistant

Rikama Education is seeking a compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant for a vibrant specialist school in Maidstone.This school offers a personalised, trauma-informed curriculum for students aged 11-16 with EHCPs for SEMH, often alongside ASC, ADHD, and attachment difficulties. Focusing on fostering independence and holistic well-being, integrating positive mental health provisions like PSHE, ELSA, and Mindfulness.The Role: You'll provide crucial 1:1 and small group support, assist with personalised learning, implement positive behaviour strategies, and help students develop emotional regulation. You'll work within a supportive, trauma-informed team to create a nurturing environment.We're Looking For:• Essential experience supporting children with SEMH needs in a school or specialist setting.• Understanding of ASC, ADHD, and attachment difficulties.• Strong communication, patience, and resilience.• Ability to work collaboratively in a trauma-informed setting.• Understanding of safeguarding.• Desirable: Relevant TA qualificationTo be considered for these roles it is essential that you have the following experience:If you meet the above criteria and would like to make a difference, please get in touch!
