Job Description
Overview

Are you someone who genuinely cares about supporting young people to thrive? This full-time Teaching Assistant role supports secondary students with learning disabilities and autism, working in partnership with a specialist provision in Swindon. Start ASAP with a 16-week settling-in period before moving to permanent.

About the role

Full time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm. Pay: £13.70 per hour.

  • You'll work one-to-one or in small groups, helping students access their learning, develop social and communication skills, and become more independent.
About the setting

The school's most recent inspection (March 2025) judged overall effectiveness as Good. It has a strong reputation for inclusive practice and caring for students with SEND. Classrooms are calm, purposeful, and supportive, with staff helping every student aim high. You'll benefit from working within a specialist provision embedded in a mainstream secondary setting, gaining exposure to a variety of learning styles and ongoing training and support.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to access learning and develop independence
  • Support social and communication skills development
