Teaching Assistant - SEND Croydon

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community in Coydon. This is a full-time role supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access learning, develop confidence, and reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
Support pupils with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social/emotional needs.
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
Help create an inclusive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to implement individual support plans (EHCPs where applicable).
Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing.
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (school or similar setting preferred).
A patient, empathetic, and positive approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEND support are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
