Job Description
Ryecroft CE Middle School Teaching Assistant

(Fixed for Summer 2026 term due to funding - may be extended)

Start Date - 13th April 2026

20 hours per week - Term Time plus Training Days

(Grade 3 - Point 5: £25,583 per annum pro rata)

We require a dedicated, talented and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our classroom support team.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of our pastoral and inclusion team
  • Offer strong behavioural management skills
  • Support individual pupils to overcome barriers to learning
  • Take a proactive role in the educational, social and medical needs of the pupil you will be supporting
Qualifications
  • Experience of working to support children's learning in a school setting, preferably Key Stage 3 (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to relate well to a wide range of people
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Willingness to provide emergency first aid cover (training provided)
  • Ability to take a proactive role in the educational, social and medical needs of pupils

PLEASE NOTE: This position is available through funding to provide individual support for a particular pupil. Therefore, the job role will only continue for as long as the pupil attends Ryecroft and/or funding is in place.

A willingness to provide emergency first aid cover would be beneficial for which training would be provided.

Ryecroft Middle School is an excellent 9-13 years middle school set in the beautiful surroundings and at the heart of the community.
